The people behind it
Who makes these, and how to reach us.
A small European studio. Every book is made for one child, which puts a hard ceiling on how many we can make at once — and is the whole point.
About Kitak
Kitak started from a drawer. Every family has one: the drawings that came home from school, kept because throwing them away is unthinkable, and never looked at again because there is nowhere to put them.
We turn one of those drawings into a book where the child is the hero and their own character is on every page — printed, bound, and made to be taken off a shelf twenty years later.
We are a small team in Europe. Orders are read by a person before anything is produced, and no book is printed until a parent has approved the preview and paid for it.
Good to know before you start.
- Which drawings work best?
- Scan them, or take a photo in a well‑lit room, directly from above, without shadows. Crayon, pencil, paint — anything goes. Don't worry if it isn't perfect.
- How many drawings should I send?
- Up to ten. Tell us which one shows the main character and describe them in a sentence — it helps our artists read the drawing the way your child meant it.
- How do I pay?
- Not on the order form: nothing is charged there. We prepare your book and publish a preview of the cover and the first pages. Once you have looked at it and approved it under “My books”, you pay securely online and the whole book unlocks. Prices include VAT.
- How long does it take?
- A preview of the cover and the first pages is ready within 4–5 business days. You approve it under “My books”, or ask once for a set of changes. After you approve and pay, the whole book unlocks for download; printed items are produced afterwards.
- Which languages can the book be in?
- Any language you ask for — just tell us in the order. The ordering page is available in English, German and Turkish.
- Who owns the drawings?
- You and your child keep full ownership of the original artwork. Details are in our terms of service.
